When Rineke lived with Koos in Kenya, they met an English couple, Gary and Joanna. With children of the same age, we sought each other out and a nice friendship developed. Gary and Joanna now run the beautiful rural wedding venue Higher Holcombe in Devon, England. Rineke made two connected hearts as a present for a visit to them.

This winter there was snow in front of the window of Rineke’s studio. When the sun shines on it, you can see the most beautiful colorful reflections of light. That effect is also visible in this new work ‘Sun on snow’.

From Sunday 8 March to Monday 27 April I will exhibit my glass and bronze at ‘Art on Location’ in the Kunstlokaal in Gemert. I exhibit together with Rianne Withoos who shows her colorful paintings made with acrylic on canvas. The opening will be festively graced by Women’s Choir ‘Behoorlijk Bekoorlijk’.

In the town of El Golfo on Lanzarote, the ocean hits the coast with thunderous violence. The water in those giant waves is azure blue, beautiful!

Rineke always wanted to make a glass ‘object’ that could be ‘floating’ on the wall. But in such a way that the structure of the glass remains clearly visible and that light can shine through the work. The fantastic result stays in her house at the front door!
