At Rineke’s previous location in Elst, she had large cultivation trays in the garden for strawberries, herbs and especially cut flowers to bring into the house. In Gemert, the garden is smaller, but there are two small cultivation trays. With sage, chives and fennel but also with a few types of flowers for the home. The Gladioli were in bloom again when it was Four Days Marches. The layout of a small herb garden or allotment garden inspired Rineke to create this cozy Kitchen garden, made with strips and square ‘pixels’ as previously at Harlequino.
