Rineke had wanted to make a glass ‘object’ that could be ‘floating’ on the wall for some time. But in such a way that the structure of the glass remains clearly visible and that light can shine through the work. During the Zutphen Glass Expo , she saw the new hanging system made by fellow glass artist Chris Rave and everything fell into place. That was the missing link to get the glass nicely on the wall!

What followed was many hours of designing, selecting color combinations, cutting and ‘baking’ glass elements. And then, of course, the hanging. The result is fantastic and lingers at the front door of Rineke’s house. Wonderful to see every day!
