The glass sculpture Primula is the very first ‘fan’ that Rineke has made. Where in glass fusion the glass is often placed in layers on top of each other to make a shape, in this technique the glass is set against each other on its side. Between the glass plates are previously made balls of sea blue, deep red and clear glass. Primula shines so beautifully in the light because of the relief that Rineke decided to experiment further with other shapes and colors in this technique.
