This winter there was regularly some snow in front of the window of Rineke’s studio. When the sun shines on it, you can see the most beautiful colorful reflections of light. That effect is also in this new work ‘Sun on snow’. Pieces of dichroid glass are fused to the glass pixels that reflect the light in different colors. Depending on the incidence of light, they are bright, blue-purple or yellow. A nice reminder of the winter that is fortunately over.
